Peregrine Ship — 30.11.2025 Update
When variants of a product are edited in Shopify (size, color, added, removed, reordered),
Shopify creates a new internal product/variant unique_id.
This unique_id no longer matches the product stored in Peregrine Ship,
so the order cannot be automatically created or synced.
➡️ Only products that were modified in Shopify are affected.
Normal products sync automatically.
We are already working on an automated fix that will remove the need for any manual action.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Fix
Identify which orders are not synced.
Go to Peregrine Ship → Store tab → Details → Sync Shopify Orders. Open the tab and check which orders are listed as unsynced.
Locate the product causing the issue.
Open the order in Shopify and find the product whose variants were recently changed. This is the product that now has a new unique_id.
Duplicate the product in Shopify. Open that product and simply create a duplicate.
(This gives you a fresh product entry with a clean unique_id that matches variants correctly.
Update the unsynced order. Go back to the problematic order inside Shopify.
Remove the old product line and replace it with the newly duplicated product.

⚠️ Important Warnings
❗Do not delete the old product
Removing the original product damages:
- Historical order data analytics review apps bundles ads reporting attribution
- Keep it archived or unpublished, not deleted.
❗Do not re-edit variants again
- Every edit = Shopify creates new IDs.
- You will repeat this problem forever.
- If your product is already stable → don’t touch variants.
🧠 Good practice to avoid this in future
Once a product is scaling → freeze the variant structure. For Winner products → prepare stock in Peregrine warehouse. Big brands → use our sourcing team → no changes needed later.
🚧 Permanent fix
- We are working on a system update that will automatically re-bind variant IDs.
- You will not need to duplicate products or manually edit orders in the future.
